Job Context

IWG is the worlds largest provider of flexible office space, providing services to more than 2 million clients across 120 countries and 3 500 business centres.

Due to the organisations continued growth, IWG are looking for an experienced IT commercial expert to support all technology service provision through negotiating and contracting services on a global basis.

The Technology Commercial Specialist is a key member of the commercial IT function reporting directly to the Technology Commercial Manager. The successful candidate will lead on capturing requirements, owning and managing vendor partnerships, to include all aspects the purchasing lifecycle (negotiating, contracting, renewals management, savings validation etc.).

 

Role and responsibilities

The Technology Commercial Specialist is responsible for ensuring a robust and sustainable commercial framework under which Technology services are procured and managed:

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Identifying and capturing IT related or IT impacting requirements
  • Manage the commercial delivery of new partnerships and supply
  • Providing reasoned and balance thought leadership on best approach to all aspects of IT in a commercial context
  • Building processes that allow for the optimal execution and delivery of new services in technology
  • Evaluate requirements and feedback, using persuasion and pragmatism to ensure success
  • Owning the commercial risk register and ensuring all risks and issues are appropriately mitigated
  • Own the end to end process in appointing a new supplier or reviewing current partners in a commercial context
  • Build and maintain an online repository covering all contractual information for IT
  • Own the commercial opportunity and ensure revenue maximisation and optimal cost recovery from suppliers and services
  • Provide due diligence support where required for potential acquisition and other partnership opportunities
  • Co-ordinate commercial due diligence requirements
  • Originate and help deliver new technology service opportunities

  • Proven and substantial experience in IT commercial role
  • Experience of contract management
  • Demonstrable competency in continuous business improvement techniques
  • Core competence in commercial and contract management tools and techniques
  • Excellence in influencing outcomes and persuasion techniques
  • Capability in interpreting and using data analysis and metrics to improve output
  • Excellent English communications skills, both written and verbal, are a must
  • Experience of working in fast-paced and flexible environments
  • Able to meet targets and deadlines and to adapt to changing goals with a can-do attitude
  • Flexible working hours essential, working across global time zones and to deadlines
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects at the same time
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Experience and ability to view and improve end-2-end processes and the conviction to drive through change
