The role

The role is ultimately responsible to engineer, develop and support all systems related with monitoring and management of IWG network infrastructure.  Main focus will be on strategic direction and implementation of our NMS systems under FCAPS model and framework for Network Management.

 

What you’ll need to succeed

We are seeking someone who combines a track record in defining and implementing network service management frameworks, with the technical expertise and knowledge in the network space to define the required processes and measurement controls towards IWG providers.

You will need to be proactive and take accountability, having an analytical mindset to identify trends, recurrent tickets raised by IWG employees and customers, identifying current pain points and convert them into improvement actions, always looking to have a continuous service improvement way of thinking, operating at the heart of our Global IT team and playing a leading role in delivering a first-class digital experience for IWG and our customers.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead the migration of IWG customized network tools to enterprise grade solutions from the marketplace, including inventory, reporting, connectivity, capacity management, access control to network systems and integration with monitoring tools.
  • Single point of contact for any networking tools integration and development projects with current IWG networking systems.
  • Accountable for resolving any incident/escalation related to IWG networking tools, identifying the root cause that drove the escalation process to be triggered and identifying action plans to avoid them in the future.
  • Manage the 3rd party technical relationships for IT Operations.
  • Work closely with our service providers for the upcoming projects enabling IWG to grow and provide better service to the business and partners.
  • Proactively manage spend on networking services globally, determining ways to reduce costs without sacrificing customer satisfaction.

 

Qualifications/Experience:

  • BSc (Engineering, Computer Science or related) required, MSc or above preferred
  • +3 years of experience in design, deploy and support Network Management systems
  • Strong networking/security technical skills – experience managing large scale networks including LAN/WLAN/Security devices and services globally.
  • Automation experience with some programming language (Python, Perl) and/or Automation Platform (Ansible)
  • Network Access Control protocols and systems to manage AAA framework to provide access to our customers and our IT systems.
  • ServiceNow platform knowledge and integration with Network Management Systems.
  • Track record of managing global IT Operational environment to ensure stability, efficient and optimum performance.
  • Strong ITIL knowledge, process management and implementation experience
  • Pragmatic, common sense attitude and strong attention to detail are required.
  • Has worked in a high-growth, fast-paced environment and can deliver results to demanding time scales in an ambiguous environment.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
  • Hands-on, involved management approach with a relentless attention to detail while simultaneously capable of seeing the bigger picture.
  • Low ego, high on delivery. Must be prepared to ‘get hands dirty’ and be actively Involved / personally contribute.
