About the role

At IWG, human resources (HR) is focused on understanding what people need and knowing how to provide it.  

 

We are looking for a qualified and resourceful HR Generalist to support our employees and managers in our local Shared Service Centre (LSC) based in Barcelona, while ensuring smooth and efficient business operations. Together with our Talent Acquisition & Development and HR Field Services (HRFS) centres of excellence, you will support managers and employees in the LSC to ensure we provide an excellent, commercially-focused HR service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise and guide managers and employees on HR related questions matters;
  • Support the Talent Acquisition, HRFS and Payroll teams to ensure new hires receive the correct paperwork and a smooth onboarding process;
  • Own and drive HR projects and initiatives that improve the business for our customers and colleagues;
  • Own and maintain the employee files, organizational charts and online company directory by cconducting audits to ensure that employee files have all necessary documents for compliance purposes;
  • Work closely with other HR team members to deploy specific functional policies and participate in improving HR processes, aligned with business priorities;
  • Act as a principal contact for labour issues, inspections and other similar legal issues; and
  • Works with multiple vendors, government agencies and other service providers for various HR functions.

 

Skills and Qualifications

  • Fluency in English and Spanish;
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, or a related field;
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a fast paced, results-focused environment at HR Generalist level in a multi-national, matrix organization;
  • Structured, but with experience of working in a changing and ambiguous environment;
  • Strong customer and commercial focus;
  • Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness;
  • Strong detail-orientated, problem-solving, resourceful “can do” positive attitude and approach;
  • Thorough knowledge of Spanish Labor law, Spanish Syndicates (Comité de empresa); and
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office, HRIS systems, and comfortable learning new technical systems as needed (knowledge of Peoplesoft and/or Microsoft Dynamics advantageous).
