Head of Group Tax 


Job Purpose

The Group Head of Tax Manager should be a Qualified Accountant and hold a recognised Taxation qualification. He/she should be a highly motivated, proactive and well organised individual capable of managing teams in the UK, and remotely in USA and Manila to facilitate effective decision-making and control of the IWG’s group tax strategy and compliance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for all taxes across 100+ countries in the group.
  • Management of the group tax team (including oversight of the tax compliance support team in the group’s shared service centre).
  • Managing the group’s transfer pricing strategy and policies, and ensuring related compliance and documentation obligations are met.
  • Providing tax support for M&A activities, and internal reorganisations, including due diligence and tax structuring.
  • Providing tax input into internal operating models.
  • Managing ETR and cash tax globally.
  • Management of global tax audits.
  • Ensuring that commercial transactions and external business partnerships are tax efficient and compliant.
  • Dealing with BEPS and Pillar 2 requirements.
  • Year end and interim tax reporting, and audit of tax.


Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of:

-Corporate tax, International tax, Transfer pricing, Withholding tax, VAT/sales tax, Payroll taxes.

  • 10+ years professional experience operating in a global tax compliance role.  
  • Qualified Tax Accountant: Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT), Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA), or ACA, ACCA Accounting qualification
  • Experience managing teams in multiple locations, outsourcing models and working with Shared Service Centres. 
  • Experience managing commercial tax transactions for franchise models,  managed partnerships, or JV arrangements are consider highly desirable.
  • Proven experience of leading and mentoring teams and colleagues to achieve results under pressure. 
  • Analytical mind with attention to detail, and ability to react quickly and “think out of the box”. 
  • A self-starter, able to work under pressure in a constantly changing environment. Not afraid of making decisions. 
  • Excellent computer skills, proficient with Microsoft suite of products, (particularly Excel).
