The Role 

As a Data Architect for IWG you will:

• Define initiatives and projects to develop new Data Architecture materials.
• Review/Design data architectures against compliance with existing IT standards. Evaluate the strategic contribution the work under your portfolio and ensure alignment with overall  IT strategies and architectures.
• Take ownership of IWG data from from an architectural and design perspective.
• Engage with IT and Business stakeholders to materialize business needs and requirements into well-defined designs and architectures.
• Provide solutions that solve today’s problem without losing track of the strategic vision and technical roadmaps.
• Keep up to date with technology and cloud trends
• Work as part of a wider team of enterprise, solution, data and platform architects reporting 
  to the Director of Architecture

What you’ll need to succeed

You have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent, a Master's degree in information management or equivalent degree and/or experience. You have at least 5 years of successful experience working in a data  architecture role delivering data solutions and 7+ years professional IT experience in a major, global organization.

Role and responsibilities  

• Ownership over IWG's data architecture landscape as well as the tactical and strategic roadmap in this area
• Produce design collateral at pace, efficiently, of excellent quality and ensure the subsequent developments fulfil the business strategy
• Lead collaborative team working with other areas within Data and Analytics team to ensure that all solutions are complete, operable, conform to business processes, and meet the business needs with the agreed quality of service
• Provide knowledge, guidance, and best practices to data team
• Grow and develop your team as we deliver at greater scale
• Provide clear, continuous, and consistent data architecture leadership at a detailed level within the project
• Ensure the end-to-end solution is fit for purpose, meet the needs of business, the agreed requirements, and are both pragmatic and supportive of the strategic architecture direction
• Identify and communicate appropriate resource requirements and work breakdown structure based on skills profile and best fit to complete the end-to-end solution design, and work with the project manager to ensure that project plans and finances align with the design
• Lead the design, development, implementation and maintenance of data management systems and solutions
• Develop conceptual, logical and physical data models to support data analysis and business intelligence
• Create and maintain current- and target-state data architectures
• Define and manage standards, guidelines and processes to ensure data quality, security and compliance.
• Work with IT teams, business analysts and data analytics teams to understand data consumers’ needs and develop solutions

Qualifications /Skills / Experience

• Ability to design and communicate data architectures using different technologies.
• Experience in analyzing, building and documenting data, data models, data quality, data products, etc., end to end lifecycle of data product.
• Fluent level of English, both written and spoken
• Demonstrable Azure knowledge
• Extensive knowledge of modelling data solutions
• Experience with Data Lake/Delta architectures.
• Python knowledge
• Broad experience working with ETL tools based on Microsoft stack (SSIS, ADF)
• Experience with data integration through APIs, Web Services, SOAP, and/or REST services. Experience using Azure DevOps and CI/CD as well as Agile tools and processes including Git, Jira, and Confluence.
• Semantic models in PowerBI/SSAS knowledge is a must
• Ability to regularly learn and adopt new technology
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization and work with diverse project teams
