Job Purpose

Innovating our centres is core to our overall objective to design workplaces for every worker, building and partner that are efficient to run, easy to operate and have sustainability built in. We will achieve our objective through innovating in four core areas:

  1. Brands: creating new and expanding the scope of niche brands to ensure we have the correct core brand stack to offer a solution to every customer
  2. Formats: pre-configuring our furniture and modularising our products to drop into any type of property
  3. Operating efficiency: driving operational efficiencies through technological improvements
  4. Enhanced services: creating new and enhancing existing services offered to customers to generate additional revenue streams

 

The design and operations manager will join a small team who is focussed on centre innovation through the four areas above, and will be focussed on completing deliverables to achieve all of these objectives. The design and operations manager is critical to defining the requirements for each area, developing pilots to launch and deploying the end product.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Conduct market research to identify brand, format and service needs from our customers and offers from our competitors
  • Complete business reviews to propose new brands, formats and service to pilot
  • Own pilots of new brands, formats and services and critique the pilots for full deployment
  • Conduct commercial analysis on new products and services to ensure they are profitable for both IWG and our partners
  • Support supply chain deliverables through ensuring selected products and suppliers are both cost effective and high quality
  • Create launch materials to ensure the successful deployment of new brands, formats or services within the business and to our partners
  • Develop reporting metrics to track success of any implementations, and report monthly to the team on success and improvements
  • Manage external design or other agencies to deliver work effectively
  • Review existing products to determine the need to change design, supply or price to make the product more successful
  • Support on operational pilots and deployments within the business

 

 

Experience / required skills:

 

  • Previous work experience as in an operational or commercial role
  • Analytical mindset with previous experience in commercial analysis and business cases
  • Proven ability to influence decisions using data
  • Previous experience in a design or construction background preferred
  • Strong skills in managing internal and external stakeholders
  • Able to work cross-functionally throughout organisation
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft suite, specifically Excel and Powerpoint
  • Fluent knowledge of the English language
  • Self-starter, bringing a valuable contribution to a small team
  • Motivated to challenges the way things are currently done
  • 3+ years work experience mandatory for role
