About the Role
The Regional Rent Controller is a regional operational role within Rent and Partner Operations, reporting directly to the Rent and Partner Operations Director. The role is responsible for day-to-day operational rent execution, with a specific emphasis on reporting accuracy, accounts payable oversight, and end-to-end ownership of the landlord and partner invoice journey within an assigned region. The role plays a critical part in ensuring rent and partners are paid accurately, on time, and in line with approved schedules and invoices, acting as the regional point of control between Lease Administration, Accounts Payable, Treasury, and Local Finance teams.

- Ensure scheduled and non-invoiced rent and partner net client profit are paid timely and accurately.
- Ensure invoiced rent and partner net client profit are paid timely and accurately.
- Own the landlord and partner invoice journey end-to-end.
- Support the Director’s mandate to ensure timely and accurate rent and partner payments globally, while providing regional depth, control, and accountability.
Detailed accountabilities and responsibilities:
- Scheduled and Non-Invoice Rent Oversight
- Own regional oversight of scheduled and non-invoice rent and partner net client profit payments, ensuring payments are executed on time and in full.
- Partner with Lease Administration and audit teams, as necessary, to validate rent schedules prior to payment execution.
- Proactively identify and resolve discrepancies in rent schedules before payment deadlines.
- Support ongoing improvements in rent schedule accuracy and governance at a regional level.
- Invoiced Rent Management
- Ensure all landlord rent invoices within the region are received, validated, approved, and paid in accordance with agreed terms.
- Act as the primary regional escalation point for delayed, blocked, or disputed rent invoices.
- Monitor invoice aging, payment timeliness, and exception queues in coordination with Accounts Payable.
- Landlord Invoice Journey Ownership
- Own the end-to-end landlord invoice journey within the region, from invoice receipt through posting, approval, and payment.
- Ensure invoice processes embedded within Accounts Payable and Local Finance teams are operating effectively and consistently.
- Partner with AP, Treasury, and Local Finance to ensure clear ownership, handoffs, and controls across the invoice lifecycle.
- Support the standardization and continuous improvement of landlord invoice processes.
- Reporting & Controls
- Prepare and maintain regional reporting on rent payment timeliness, invoice aging, exceptions, and escalations.
- Support monthly and periodic reporting requirements for Rent and Partner Operations.
- Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as the key regional liaison for Rent and Partner Operations.
- Escalate systemic issues, risks, or recurring failures to the Rent and Partner Operations Director with clear data and recommendations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years’ experience in property accounting, lease accounting, accounts payable, or rent operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, real estate, or a related discipline.
- Strong stakeholder management and business partnering skills
- Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and financial controls.
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to manage deadlines, prioritize work, and resolve operational issues.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Teams, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Experience working with financial systems such as Microsoft Dynamics or similar ERP platforms.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting rent schedules, recurring payments, or lease-related accounting.
- Prior experience in a regional or shared services operating model.
- Exposure to landlord invoice processing on a global scale.
- Familiarity with lease accounting concepts and rent payment controls.
