Role Summary
The QA, Risk & Compliance Manager under the Process Governance Tower is responsible for establishing, governing, and continuously enhancing the Quality Assurance, Risk Management, and Compliance framework across Finance Operations (P2P, O2C, R2R, FP&A, Tax & Statutory).

This role serves as the second line of defense within Finance Operations, ensures transaction integrity, SLA/KPI adherence, internal control effectiveness, regulatory and policy compliance, risk identification and mitigation and sustainable error reduction through structured governance, root cause analysis, and cross-functional collaboration.

The position acts as the independent quality and risk oversight arm of Finance Operations and partners closely with Function Heads, Reporting & Analytics, Business Control, PMO, Finance Systems Administration, Internal Audit and Global Risk teams.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • QA, Risk & Compliance Governance Framework
    • Design and standardize a unified QA, Risk & Compliance methodology across all Finance towers.
    • Define sampling strategy, risk-based review models, and quality scoring standards.
    • Develop and maintain a Finance Risk & Control Matrix (RCM) in alignment with global policies.
    • Establish tolerance thresholds for material errors and compliance breaches.
    • Lead QA calibration sessions to ensure consistency and objectivity.
    • Ensure alignment with:
      • Internal controls
      • Accounting standards (IFRS/local GAAP)
      • Global policies
      • Regulatory requirements
      • Delegation of Authority (DOA)
  • Transaction Quality, Risk & Process Oversight
    • Oversee execution of QA sampling and deep-dive transaction reviews.
    • Validate compliance with:
      • Process documentation
      • Internal controls
      • SLAs
      • SOX / control requirements (where applicable)
    • Identify control breakdowns and systemic process weaknesses.
    • Monitor recurring error patterns and compliance breaches across towers.
    • Perform risk reviews (e.g., vendor master, revenue recognition, journal controls, etc.)
    • Ensure documentation completeness and policy adherence.
    • Conduct fraud-risk indicators review and escalate red flags.
  • Risk Monitoring & Control Effectiveness
    • Establish risk dashboards highlighting:
      • High-risk processes
      • Repeat findings
      • Control failures
      • SLA breaches
    • Perform quarterly control effectiveness validation.
    • Partner with Business Control on risk validation and mitigation tracking.
    • Maintain a centralized log of:
      • Control gaps
      • Policy deviations
      • Audit findings
      • Regulatory exposures
  • Reporting & Governance Management
    • Partner with Reporting & Analytics to build:
      • QA dashboard
      • Accuracy scorecards
      • Error recurrence tracking
      • SLA compliance reporting

    • Present monthly governance pack to:
      • GSC Leadership

  • Root Cause Analysis & Continuous Improvement
    • Lead structured root-cause analysis sessions with process owners.
    • Track corrective and preventive action plans
    • Collaborate with:
      • PMO (remediation projects)
      • Finance Systems Admin (system control fixes)
      • Business Control (risk validation)
      • Function Heads (process redesign)
    • Recommend automation or control redesign to prevent repeat findings.
    • Embed QA & Risk checkpoints during:
      • Transition
      • Migration
      • System Implementation
  • Audit & Regulatory Support
    • Ensure QA documentation is always audit-ready.
    • Act as primary Finance Operations liaison for:
      • Internal Audit
      • External Audit
      • Compliance reviews
    • Provide validation samples and evidence.
    • Track and close audit action items
    • Strengthen risk awareness culture within Finance Operations.
    • Support regulatory reporting and statutory compliance validation where required.
  • Policy & Compliance Oversight
    • Ensure adherence to:
      • Global Finance Policies
      • Procurement Policies
      • Revenue Policies
      • Delegation of Authority
      • Anti-bribery & fraud policies
    • Monitor policy deviation trends.
    • Recommend policy updates based on recurring findings.
    • Conduct compliance awareness sessions across towers.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 8-12 years’ experience in Finance Shared Services / Finance Operations.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Risk, Compliance, Internal Controls or Audit
  • Strong exposure to P2P, O2C, R2R controls
  • Strong understanding of IFRS, internal control frameworks
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., D365, SAP, Oracle)
  • Experience in leading QA or Risk teams
  • Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills
